Description
It is a nice spring day in Stuttgart, the capital of the German state Baden-Württemberg. Two coupled GT4-trams run on the last remaining tram line: Line 15. All others tram lines were already exchanged against a more modern Light Rail / Underground system.
The first messengers of the end of the last tram line are already visible. The trams run on meter-gauge tracks while the new "DT8"-trains run on 1435mm-tracks. Here you can see both gauges in one track. Germans call it "Dreischienengleis", which could perhaps be translated as mixed-gauge track with three rails.
Most of the GT4 were taken out of service in December 2007 when Line 15 was converted to line U15.
